This photo of Gísli Harðarson and Little v was taken at Stúdentakjallarinn, the student bar at the University of Iceland, on February 28th, 2020. Einar Freyr Sigurðson, Jim Wood, and Lilja Björk Stefánsdóttir were also present and as one might guess we talked a bit about linguistics. It is always fun talking to Gísli, and I think he likes compounds even more than I do, so I look forward to all of our future interactions about blackbirds and truck drivers. The photo also captures a moment in history when Gísli and I were both severely affected by the Icelandic preschool strike of 2020, so his kid was with him on this occasion, just like my daughters made several visits to the university around this time due to there being no school for them! Unusual times — but distributing morphemes around compounds is always fun!
