Málfróði: Using crowdsourcing and gamification to construct datasets for the Icelandic language

This thesis describes Málfróði, a database that consists of a few different data sets that concern the Icelandic language and how crowdsourcing and gamification have been used to construct these data. The four data sets in question can be divided into four main categories: the appropriateness of words, the formality level of words, synonyms and correctness of sentences with respect to spelling and grammar. The data have been released in open access.
